ShAngela Fusco graduated from James Madison University with a B.S. in Psychology in 2006. She received a Distinguished Student award and aided in the publication of the 2nd Edition of Multiple Chemical Sensitivity Disorder with Dr. Pam Gibson. Angela also created and formed Campus Camp, a grief camp serving children in the Harrisonburg and surrounding areas on the beautiful JMU campus. Mrs. Fusco then went on to teach preschool and lead the Early Discoveries Program at the Virginia Beach YMCA. There she found her passion for working with children and their families. With that passion, she enrolled in a Masters program in School Counseling at Old Dominion University in 2008. During this time, the tools and resources to become a state licensed School Counselor were developed. At commencement in 2010, Angela received two department awards for excellence. She also contributed to two published articles on child development.
After graduation, came a job in St. Johns Florida as a school counselor at a St. Johns County High School. Later in 2014 Angela moved to a Middle School while pursuing her credits and courses to attain her LMHC (License for Mental Health Counseling). Her LMHC license was attained in 2018. From 2014 to 2019, she also worked for Dr. Stephanie Vavilala at Therapeutic Butterfly Effects. Before moving to Mental Health for the county, Angela was awarded the School Counselor of the Year and represented SJCSD at the regional level. Recently, Mrs. Fusco worked as a School District Mental Health Counselor for St. Johns Country Public Schools. In 2019 these experiences inspired her to open her own private practice, Phases of Healing!
She is also the proud parent of Jett & Finn and loving wife to Justin and step-mom to Peyton.
Angela looks forward to serving you and your family's needs.
