ANGELA FUSCO, LMHC
Angela specializes in supporting older children (ages 11+), tweens, teens, and adults in areas such as anxiety, depression, self-harm, ADHD, behavioral concerns, and school-related challenges like 504 plans and IEP advocacy. She also provides parent coaching, college preparation support, and is a passionate advocate for LGBTQ+ youth and families, helping them navigate life’s transitions with confidence and care.
Angela Fusco graduated from James Madison University with a B.S. in Psychology in 2006. She received a Distinguished Student award and aided in the publication of the 2nd Edition of Multiple Chemical Sensitivity Disorder with Dr. Pam Gibson. Angela also created and formed Campus Camp, a grief camp serving children in the Harrisonburg and surrounding areas on the beautiful JMU campus, which is still in production to this day. Mrs. Fusco then went on to teach preschool and lead the Early Discoveries Program at the Virginia Beach YMCA. There she found her passion for working with children and their families. With that passion, she enrolled in a Masters program in School Counseling at Old Dominion University in 2008. During this time, the tools and resources to become a state licensed School Counselor were developed. At commencement in 2010, Angela received two department awards for excellence. She also contributed to two published articles on child development.
After graduation, came a job in St. Johns Florida as a school counselor at a High School. Later in 2014, Angela moved to a Middle School while pursuing her credits and courses to attain her LMHC (License for Mental Health Counseling). Her LMHC license was attained in 2018. From 2014 to 2019, she also worked for Dr. Stephanie Vavilala at Therapeutic Butterfly Effects. Before moving to Mental Health for the county, Angela was awarded the School Counselor of the Year and represented SJCSD at the state level. Recently, Mrs. Fusco worked as a School District Mental Health Counselor for St. Johns Country Public Schools. In 2019 these experiences inspired her to open her own private practice, Phases of Healing!
She recently received training in Accelerated Resolution Therapy and is in the process of receiving her education in Functional Medicine in regard to Behavorial Health.

She is also the proud parent of Jett & Finn and loving wife to Justin and step-mom to Peyton.
